History


RYAN EXECUTIVE SEARCH is a leading recruiter of bilingual professionals for upper and middle management positions serving the United States and all Hispanic markets. Our clients are multinational Fortune 500 and local companies from pharmaceutical to service sectors. The SBA classifies RYAN as a woman majority owned Minority Company, duly registered and licensed by the different government entities. We are a second-generation recruiting firm.

After several years of executive placement for another recruiting firm, Terence Ryan bought an established executive firm in 1987. Hence, RYAN EXECUTIVE SEARCH was born and has not looked back since.

From our home base in Puerto Rico, we have prime access to serve the U.S. and Hispanic markets using our contacts, our website and our affiliate, Jennifer Ryan, CPC, Executive Vice President, Florida State. Search

RYAN applies its computerized database of over 40,000 hand-selected resumes classified according to position, compensation, and industry. The search begins with candidates from companies comparable to the client organization, similar industries and related fields. Using our database and experience, the process is then customized for each company and position. In addition, RYAN consultants’ strong network and knowledge of the employment market identifies key candidates in a relatively short period of time. The position is posted on our website, using the worldwide web and all other necessary resources to identify the most qualified candidates. RYAN guarantees the utmost confidentiality and discretion in our searches.

Interview

RYAN’S interview process is characterized by objectivity, integrity and confidentiality. As a result our consultants and supporting team invest significant time and effort with each candidate. Our consultants use each job description to prepare the interviews according to the Targeted Selection process, and/or the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and Wonderlic Tests. Other customized tests are administered per Clients’ requests.

RYAN’S consultants evaluate a candidates’ education, position experience and personality traits without losing focus of the company culture. The candidate not only meets the professional requirements but also ensures a proper fit. The Targeted Selection interview process has proven to accurately predict an applicant’s performance. The value of this technique is exemplified by its’ use in multinational worldwide Fortune 500 companies.

Evaluation

RYAN interviews may also include the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Wonderlic Personality Tests, which evaluate the candidate’s strengths, potential, achievements and overall suitability for the organization. RYAN conducts thorough reference checks, arranges drug tests, psychological tests and credit reports as per client’s request. All of the above support our selection process and help provide fast and reliable results.

Once the interviews are completed, we evaluate the information we have acquired and present three or four candidates whose qualifications best match the position and culture of the company.

Placement

RYAN then coordinates client/candidate interviews. While the client makes the final decision and offer of employment, we remain available to consult on any issues that may arise, including the negotiation of the terms of employment.

Average Cycle Time for recruiting middle management is one or two weeks. Upper level management with a sensitive position of unusual or unique specifications may take longer. Thus far we have successfully completed complex start-up operations in a variety of industries in one to three months. Our experience, contacts, knowledge of the market and candidates in all levels of management allow us to conduct a thorough search in a comparatively short time.

Our consultants are well known in the industry for their thorough interviews and more importantly the results of our candidate’s performance. Our combined experience makes RYAN by far the most experienced recruiting firm with proven results.

Because of their knowledge in recruitment techniques and personal attention, our consultants visit our clients as per their requests and classify the job orders according to the area of expertise. Furthermore, they assist with the recruitment and selection process and serve as a liaison for RYAN at key conventions, associations and community affairs.

Terence L. Ryan, President & Senior Sales & Marketing Consultant, manages the Sales and Marketing division. He has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and over 20 years of experience as an executive consultant.

Alina Caballero, Senior Employment Consultant manages the Financial, Manufacturing, IS, and Administration division. She has a Bachelor Degree from Universidad de Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus and over 15 years experience in the recruitment field.

Costs

Our fees adapt to your company’s specific resources and requirements. The two most frequently used methods are:

1) Non-contingent: This includes upper-level management positions of a strict confidential nature, which require specific and unique circumstances. With this special population, a retainer fee is required. Of course, arrangements are made according to the nature of the particular assignment. Most commonly, one-third of the agreed fee is paid in advance, another third midway through the search and the remaining balance upon completion of the search.

2) Contingent: We also work on contingent searches mainly for mid-level and less sensitive upper-level management positions. You pay only when you hire one of our candidates. The client fee for our services is determined by the employee’s first year total compensation (including bonuses, company car, etc). Advertising expenses, when authorized, are borne by the client company. Discounted fees may apply to exclusive and/or high volume clients.

Guarantees

We guarantee our services for 90 days for middle-level management. Upper-level management may be guaranteed for up to one year. Hence, if the candidate leaves or is dismissed for a valid reason, we shall replace him/her free of additional expenses within the specific area of expertise.

RYAN honors an “Off Limits” policy from personnel raiding of our exclusive clients for a period of one year or more from the date of the last placement. Exclusive clients are defined as those clients who use our recruiting services exclusively and continually.
